SALE!
Revolve Clothing is having a big sale! Lots of great markdowns on items that are still full price in most stores here (or stuff that they haven't received yet since we are always behind on the seasons) Pick up some cute Joie tops, a Tolani big flower scarf, and you're set for spring! Well, maybe add a belt, some shoes, perhaps a romper... www.revolveclothing.com

Birthday Present - part deux

My other birthday present to myself arrived today! Joie Izzy Poet blouse with a 3/4 sleeve. I got this on sale at Shopbop for $103 and it shipped in a week. It was the last one in stock and luckily it was in a small! I guess it was just meant to be. My Mamoon and I saw this at Holts the other weekend for $275...hmmm. Old stock Holt Renfrew? The best part about online shopping in stores like shopbop or revolveclothing is that they get new stock in all the time and have frequent sales to make room for new stuff. And we like new stuff!!

Want to get inside deals and coupons? Online stores have member newsletters that you can sign up for that will give you discount codes, style tips and upcoming sale info. Regular standing stores, like Banana Republic and Club Monaco, also have newsletters that you can sign up for. Banana Republic has regular sales events and print off coupons for 30% off. Cashmere cardigans for 30% off? Yes please. Also, if you are fashion-challenged (like one of my favorite lil sisters - however this doesn't matter since she will soon have a killer awesome job and then pay me to style and shop for her by gifting me her castoffs, and perhaps some Chanel on the side) sign up for a blog like www.whowhatwear.com. You'll get a daily fashion email about top trends, looks, what was she wearing, beauty and accessories, fashion shows....it's like a gift to your in-box every morning!

J'adore braids!

I really love all the side braids being styled for the runway this year. I just can't get enough of Alexander Wang lately! Really making me wish I hadn't chopped my hair off a few years back...but I had to get rid of the black color that had emerged after years of dying from blonde, to red, to black (attempting chocolate brown), candy corn hue, and other horrid experiments. So I don't have uber long hair anymore, but I do have a Blake! The best hair man EVER! Visit his website www.blakefiero.com and he might book you in! Sent him a text with the posted photo today and we're going to see what we can do... Stay tuned!
Joie Willa Party Skirt

My birthday purchase arrived! The Joie Willa party skirt in Stain (reg $155, scored for $60 on revolveclothing.com) The skirt also exists in black and leather on other sites but sizing is limited. This is going to be fabulous with some black flats, tucked in silk tank, and my black leather hoodie. I can't think of a better reason to go party than a new party skirt!

Sites I can't live without
Well, maybe I could live without them...but I definitely wouldn't look as good.
There are so many great brands of clothes available, but the selection available in Canadian boutiques and Holt Renfrew (we need Saks and Bloomingdales!) is sparse. Enter online shopping!I have 2 standby sites that I visit on a regular basis: www.revolveclothing.com and www.shopbop.com Both of these sites have FREE shipping to Canada, and if the item doesn't fit or you don't like it, you only need to pay for the return shipping. These sites stock similar brands but have very different selections and exclusive items.
Revolve Clothing offers 30% off for new customers! After you place an order, just email their customer service line and request this discount. Revolve customer service is AMAZING! They always get back to you within an hour or two and are super helpful. You can always google discount codes and recieve an additional 15% discount or more off subsequent orders.
ShopBop doesn't offer as many discount codes as Revolve, but they have huge sales where you can get great items at insanely discounted prices. I just purchased the Joie Izzy Poet blouse for $103 on sale the other week, and then saw it in Holt Renfrew this week for $275. I win! ShopBop also compiles lookbooks and trend watches that can be a great source of inspiration (or great time killer during work or class!).
Check the sites out and happy shopping!

Canadians like clothes too
As an MBA student that follows fashion blogs and is guilty of choosing Vogue and Bazaar over Accounting and Finance textbooks, I am well aware of the amazing fashions, trends and beauty products that are available on the market. However, when I want to try or buy these things of beauty, I can't find them in Canada! There are only so many trips that I can make to my favorite fashion districts in Paris and New York, which is why I have decided to start this blog. I am a self-proclaimed shopping geek. I have taken my love of fashion and beauty and put my nerdy MBA research skills (my degree is already proving its value!) into finding the best shopping sites and best deals that I can access from my Western Canadian condo. Please visit me regularly for updates on shopping deals, insider tips, and ideas for how you can rock the best pieces at the best prices.
